NW scholar transport operators urged to comply
The Department of Community Safety and Transport in the North West Province has issued a stern warning to over 500 scholar transport operators who did not pitch for a mandatory inspection last week.
The inspection was a response to the findings by the Human Rights Commission, which found that a number of North West’s scholar transport buses were unroadworthy.
The department says absent operators run the risk of being removed from the roads and as a last resort, having their contracts terminated, as there’s no longer a room for excuses.
