NT Police officers reflect on community efforts to find Kumanjayi Little Baby

Sergeant Chris Harden and search co-ordinator Karl von Minden led the search mission to find five-year-old girl Kumanjayi Little Baby, whose body was found on the outskirts of Alice Springs in April.
The little girl’s name has been changed for Warlpiri cultural reasons; under Indigenous protocol, it is taboo to speak the name of someone who has died.
The Northern Territory police officers spoke for the first time with SBS Chief Political Correspondent Anna Henderson about the enormous, five-day search effort that made international headlines.
