North West Storms | Family of flood victim demands accountability
The grieving family of 12-year-old Oitsile Sere, is demanding accountability following her tragic death during recent severe flooding in Taung in the North West province. Sere, a Grade 7 pupil, was reportedly swept away by fast-rising floodwaters in Lokgabeng village on Sunday. The family says she was swept into an unsecured borrow pit left open by a contractor under the provincial Department of Public Works and Roads. This comes as Premier Lazarus Mokgosi and some members of his Executive Council visited areas affected by the floods in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality. Thabang Morutloa reports.
