Nompumelelo Sithole breaks silence on missing toddler, Omphile

More than two weeks after two-year-old Omphile Sithole disappeared from her grandparents’ home in Ga-Mabuela village outside Mokopane, Limpopo, her mother Nompumelelo Sithole says she is struggling to understand how her child could vanish while under the care of her paternal grandparents.

The toddler went missing from her bed earlier this month while staying at the family home.

The grandparents were arrested on Friday last week and appeared before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of child neglect.

They remain in custody and are expected to return to court next week Monday for a formal bail application.

SABC News Reporter, Nonhlanhla Ntshingila spoke to Omphile’s mother, Nompumelelo Sithole.
