Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, a close ally of Vladimir Putin, has signaled support for Iran amid rising tensions with the United States. Reports suggest Chechen fighters loyal to Kadyrov are prepared to be deployed to the Middle East if Washington launches a ground invasion of Iran. According to Iranian media, the Chechen units have even described potential intervention as a “jihad.” Earlier, Kadyrov had also criticized Iranian strikes on civilian infrastructure in Gulf nations, calling such actions unacceptable.
