NGO brings hope to breast cancer patients

Project Flamingo says it hopes to give women diagnosed with breast cancer a dignified chance at survival by reducing delays in life-saving treatment.

As part of Nelson Mandela Day, the NGO, working alongside doctors and nurses in the public health sector, is conducting nearly 60 breast cancer surgeries at hospitals across the country this weekend.

The initiative aims to reduce the surgical backlog for breast cancer patients, where early intervention is critical to improving treatment outcomes and survival rates.
