Netanyahu to visit US to discuss Iran and pay tribute to Graham
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has departed for Washington to meet United States President Donald Trump for their first face-to-face talks since the start of the conflict with Iran.
It will be Netanyahu’s eighth meeting with Trump since the US president returned to office.
A meeting with Trump that showcases what has traditionally been a close relationship between the two leaders could help Netanyahu at home, where he is facing a 27 October election and is struggling in opinion polls.
Netanyahu said he will also attend late US senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral.
