Anti-corruption protests continued in Nepal as several government buildings, including the country’s Parliament, were torched on September 9, 2025. In the wake of a government crackdown on the unrest that led to the deaths of 19 protesters, Nepali Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli has resigned. The announcement of his departure, however, failed to quell the violence and Nepal’s army warned of possible strong action.
