‘Mr Zelensky, Won’t Tolerate…’: Putin’s Ally Comes Out Swinging Over Killer Black Sea Attack

India has summoned Ukrainian Ambassador Oleksandr Polishchuk after a reported drone strike on the commercial vessel MV Omorfi killed an Indian sailor in the Black Sea. The July 18 attack occurred while the ship was reportedly sailing within Russian territorial waters with ten crew members aboard, including three Indian nationals. Two Indian sailors survived. New Delhi initially did not publicly identify those responsible, but later summoned Kyiv’s envoy after maritime officials attributed the incident to a Ukrainian drone. The Ministry of External Affairs conveyed “serious concern” and condemned attacks on commercial shipping, warning that they endanger civilian crews, freedom of navigation and international commerce. India has also advised its citizens to carefully assess routes, insurance, security arrangements and emergency procedures before accepting work aboard vessels operating in Black Sea conflict zones.
