MMEA receives first of four AW189 helicopters to boost maritime security
The acceptance of the first of four AW189 medium-lift helicopters will strengthen the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s (MMEA) capabilities in maritime enforcement, aerial surveillance and search-and-rescue operations.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the acquisition is part of government efforts to modernise national security assets and enhance MMEA’s capabilities in search-and-rescue, medical evacuation (Medevac) and special operations.
