Nathaniel Gleicher is a man on a mission to rid Meta’s platforms of scams. And for a good reason: scammers use images of celebrities, and angry celebrities are bad press for Meta. A story like this is happening in Poland right now, with one of the wealthiest Poles – a businessman named Rafał Brzoska – has mounted a campaign against the company due to his likeness (and his wife) used rampantly by scammers. Gleicher tells us that Meta is devising the best tools it can – including AI-powered ones – and is working constantly with law enforcement to hunt down scams, and scammers themselves.
