More than 300 families have been evacuated from their homes after huge amounts of ash billowed from the Philippines’ Mayon volcano over the weekend of May 2, 2026. Mayon has had several minor eruptions since January. The latest blast, however, led to the collapse of huge deposits of lava from its slopes, unleashing a massive ash cloud.
