Livingstone Hospital | Concerns over poor governance in Eastern Cape Health system
Public Protector, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka, has highlighted poor governance in the Eastern Cape Health system as a contributing factor to the continuous challenges facing Livingstone Hospital in Gqeberha.
Gcaleka conducted an oversight visit to the hospital to assess the implementation of her recommendations that followed an investigation at the facility.
The investigation had found clinical staff shortages, no approved organogram and overcrowding, amongst others.
Gcaleka says there has been little to no improvement since her last visit to the hospital.
