LIVE NEWS: US-Iran peace talks in Pakistan, Trump attends White House correspondents dinner & more

President Donald Trump is sending his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan on Saturday for talks with Iran, the White House said Friday. Shortly after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi touched down in Pakistan, his government said there would be no direct negotiations with American government representatives during this visit. Vice President JD Vance would be on standby to travel, the White House said.

Trump said Thursday that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah by three weeks after talks at the White House. The meeting was the second high-level negotiation between the two countries since last week. The initial 10-day ceasefire, which took effect last Friday, had been due to expire Monday.

President Trump is also expected to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night.
