LIVE NEWS: Trump roundtable, Thailand shooting, Fauci contempt, Reflecting pool controversy & more
President Donald Trump will host a roundtable on American mining Friday afternoon at the US State Department, as tensions continue to rise with Iran over the country’s nuclear program and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. It remains unclear if Iran has reached a deal with Oman to reopen shipping routes in the Strait as more ships and tankers were attacked this week.
Trump also signed executive orders on Thursday limiting birthright tourism and citizenship, weeks after the Supreme Court ruled against his previous order.
The New York Times reports that a judge has officially thrown out the case against former Olympian Davey Hearn, a week after Jeanine Pirro, the US Attorney for Washington, DC announced the Justice Department would drop the charge. President Trump has voiced his opposition to the move and maintains the Reflecting Pool was vandalized.
We are following breaking news out of Thailand where police say a student opened fire at a high school near Bangkok, killing six people, then shooting himself.
