US President Donald Trump landed in the United Kingdom for a second state visit at the invitation of King Charles III. Air Force One touched down at Stansted Airport near London. Trump told reporters that his visit was “going to be a very big thing.” Trump is the first US leader to be invited for two state visits to the UK. Trump’s first state visit was in 2019 when Queen Elizabeth II hosted him. The UK government is hoping the royal pageantry will strengthen ties. Trump is also expected to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday at his residence. The meeting comes as Starmer faces criticism at home over his choice of former envoy Peter Mandelson, whose ties to Jeffrey Epstein have raised questions.
