LGE 2026 | NCM looks to improve on 2021 performance

The 2021 local government elections saw the rise of the Namakwa Civic Movement, a community-driven civic organisation spearheaded by young doctors and active community members.

The NCM achieved significant support across the Namakwa district, securing seats in four municipalities. The political party focuses on issues of electricity, sanitation, water provision and the maintenance of critical infrastructure.

Now, as the 2026 local government elections approach, the NCM is preparing to defend its support base, with the DA and Patriotic Alliance also competing for voters in the region.
