Less children injured following Queensland’s e-bike and e-scooter laws

New data has revealed the Queensland Government’s crackdown on illegal e-scooters and e-bikes seems to be working, with fewer children seriously injured since new laws were introduced.

Seven children were admitted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in the past few months, down from a peak of 18 patients earlier this year.

Police have fined more than 2800 e-bike riders during the blitz, with most caught riding without a helmet.
