Latest Newspoll shows Labor’s primary vote at its weakest since Gillard-era

Labor has recorded its weakest primary vote not seen since Julia Gillard was prime minister.

According to the latest Newspoll in The Australian, the Labor Party now sits at 29 per cent.

This is on par with One Nation, which also saw a drop in support.

The Coalition’s primary vote is at 18 per cent, nearing its record low seen in June.

However, despite support for Labor declining, Anthony Albanese remains as the preferred prime minister, sitting well ahead of Pauline Hanson and Angus Taylor on 46 per cent.
