Labor government’s fertiliser scheme faces criticism from industry


The government’s 7.5-billion-dollar scheme to increase fuel and fertiliser supplies is facing stark criticism from the industry.

The Australian reports that most fertiliser importers have been locked out of the funds used to underwrite companies to protect them against losses on shipments.

Only three big businesses out of almost a dozen bulk importers and 90 resellers have been granted access to the scheme.
