Kimberley pensioners lament unfulfilled freedom promises

Some pensioners in Kimberley, who lived through apartheid and were part of the 1994 transition to democracy, say the euphoria of that time has worn off, and they are now facing the harsh realities of survival.

Three Kimberley pensioners, who all voted for the first time on 27 April, 1994, say they had high hopes about the future.

But are now calling on political leaders to recommit themselves to leading with integrity and honesty.
