Jim Chalmers’ budget has ‘entrenched underfunding’ for legal aid across Australia

NSW Council for Civil Liberties President Timothy Roberts says the 2026 budget has “entrenched underfunding” for legal aid across Australia.

Mr Roberts told Sky News Australia that it has “devastating results” for law firms.

“More importantly, I guess the community that people serve across the country.”
