JD Vance warns blue state officials could face prison time over sweeping fraud crackdown
Vice President JD Vance has warned that officials in Democratic-led states could face prison time if they are found to have enabled or ignored large-scale fraud.
Vance claimed that taxpayers are getting fleeced out of billions, or even trillions of dollars due to fraud.
The comments come amid a sweeping Trump administration crackdown on alleged Medicaid and hospice fraud across multiple states.
Vance said federal investigators have already shut down fraudulent hospice operations and issued subpoenas tied to suspected fraud rings.
The administration has also moved to suspend or withhold funding from providers and programs flagged in ongoing audits.
