Jared Kushner holds ‘very good meeting’ with Netanyahu in bid to restart Gaza peace talks

Talks on the future of Gaza between White House envoy Jared Kushner and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have ended without a breakthrough.

Despite that, Kushner said it was a “very good meeting” and that there could soon be progress, saying that Hamas officials “said all the right things” when he met with them on Sunday.

“We could be seeing progress in as little in 30 days, taking the weapons out, filling the tunnels out in the next 60 to 90 days,” Kushner said.

“So progress could come soon but we need co-operation from both sides.”
Last week, Israel rejected the Trump-backed 15-point Gaza peace plan put forward by the Board of Peace.

Netanyahu said that the IDF would not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is completely disarmed.
