James O’Keefe, Cam Higby face voter fraud charges in Minnesota: Full press conference

Conservative activists James O’Keefe and Cam Higby were charged with voter fraud in Minnesota, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office. During a press conference, felony charges of unlawful voting and identity theft for filming themselves misrepresenting their identities to election judges during the Minnesota Aug. 11 primary were announced.

Officials said O’Keefe and Higby filmed themselves and posted the videos to social media to try to sow doubt about Minnesota’s secure voting systems.

In the videos, both Mr. O’Keefe and Mr. Higby visited multiple precincts in Hennepin County and misrepresented their identities by giving election judges names of registered voters in the precinct without those voters’ knowledge or permission. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said they were alerted by the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office that the pair and others were trying to undermine the state’s vouching system.
