IRONMAN African Championship returns to Gqeberha


The 21st edition of the IRONMAN African Championship returns to the Friendly City o n Sunday.
More than 3-thousand athletes are expected to descend on Gqeberha’s pristine beachfront.
Around 1-thousand, 200 of them will take on the full-distance race: a 3-point-8-kilometre swim, followed by a 180-kilometre cycle, and a 42-point-2-kilometre run.
While this year’s event is not part of the professional series, it still offers qualifying slots for the 2026 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
