Iraq emerges as a significant threat in Iran war
Independent Women’s Forum Senior Fellow Qanta Ahmed warned of the increasing threat Iraq poses as a growing threat to the war in the Middle East.
“It’s very important in my opinion to expand the panorama, we are already seeing an open multifront war that has expanded,” Dr Ahmed told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
“I’m increasingly worried about Iraq, which neighbours Iran.
“Iraq has, unfortunately, been host to Iranian-backed militia.
“The Iranian-backed militias are controlling the Iraqi government, Iraqi politics are involved in its finances, and they now form a much more threatening proxy for Iran as this Gulf conflict intensifies.”
