Iranian Air Defences Shoots American Aircraft In Retaliation; Trump’s Qeshm Island Attack ‘Fails’
Iran claims it has shot down another American MQ-9 Reaper drone over the strategically vital island of Qeshm, escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran as fresh explosions are reported near the Strait of Hormuz.
The latest announcement comes just a day after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have destroyed what it described as the 16th American MQ-1 drone. Tehran says its advanced air defence systems are tracking US aerial activity, raising fresh questions about the growing military confrontation in the Persian Gulf.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has acknowledged carrying out what he described as minor strikes against Iran, while declining to provide further details.
