Iran issues demands to reopen Hormuz. Trump says it’s US territory
Iran’s parliament speaker and key negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, issued a list of demands today in exchange for Tehran reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
He also called on the US to implement the “other terms” Washington committed to as part of the memorandum of understanding, which expired yesterday.
US President Donald Trump posted an image on social media showing the Strait of Hormuz labeled as “New US Territory.”
CNN’s Betsy Kelin has the latest on Trump’s new threat and CNN politics senior reporter Stephen Collinson says Iran will see the move as a “sign of Trump’s frustration.” Also, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander James Stavridis and former Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL) share their takes.
