Interest rates likely to rise again after better-than-expected jobs data | Finance Report | ABC NEWS
Financial markets are betting the Reserve Bank (RBA) will almost certainly lift interest rates by the end of the year.
That’s after the ABS released stronger-than-expected jobs numbers, showing the unemployment rate steady at 4.4% and more than 76,000 people starting new jobs last month.
This lifted the Australian dollar above 70 US cents, while the Australian share market erased nearly all of the day’s gains.
