Inside Jelena Dokic’s fight against body shaming and trolls

Jelena Dokic became one of the biggest names in tennis as a teenager, reaching world number four and defeating some of the sport’s top players.
And in the years since leaving the court, Jelena has spoken openly and powerfully about surviving family violence, struggling with mental health and navigating body shame – from others and herself.

In this episode, Jelena discusses her recent Logie win for Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story, her work advocating for young women in a new campaign with World Vision, and – on the first Father’s Day since his death earlier this year – her “complicated” grief around the late Damir Dokić, from whom she had been estranged for a decade.

She also talks about going public with her new relationship, and explains how she reached a place of greater confidence and self-acceptance: “I could easily say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
