Inferno rages in France and Spain, over 270k people evacuated | World News Tonight

Hundreds of thousands of people had to be evacuated due to forest fires quickly spreading across southern Europe. The French Prime Minister has called the scale of the fires “unprecedented,” with the military deployed to contain them. Firefighters from Poland are traveling to the Iberian Peninsula to help combat the inferno.
The Ukrainian military has carried out a new wave of long-range strikes deep inside Russia and across the Caspian Sea, targeting military and energy infrastructure. Ukraine also struck ships transporting military cargo from Iran, as well as a Russian warship.
Another day of protests in Ukraine with people taking to the streets of Kyiv, protesting the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov as Ukraine’s defense minister. Although President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered him a different position in the government, Fedorov declined to return.
