‘I’m Sorry, DOJ Failed.’: Todd Blanche Makes Surprising Admission In Epstein Files Case
During testimony before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Tuesday, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche acknowledged that the Justice Department mishandled the rollout of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents by inadvertently disclosing victims’ identities and other sensitive personal information. The disclosure reportedly led to distress among survivors, who said they felt retraumatized after seeing unredacted details in files released over the past six months. Responding to questions from Senator Patty Murray, Blanche did not issue a direct apology but stated that the department “never intends to release a single victim’s name” and described the errors as affecting only a small portion of the more than six million documents. He added that once the mistakes were identified, officials “owned up to them” and took corrective action.
