Hooded Rioters Loot Barcelona Shops and Firebomb Streets
On October 24, 100 people were arrested in Barcelona after hooded demonstrators at an anti-establishment rally looted shops and set fire to street furniture near Plaza de Catalunya. Eyewitness footage captured masked individuals throwing stones at a heavy police presence and setting containers ablaze. The violence in Barcelona coincided with widespread weekend protests across Europe, which included massive marches in France, tear gas deployments against anti-government demonstrators in Brussels, and ongoing demonstrations in Italy and Albania.
