Home Ministry seizes 6,620 Quran texts, materials worth RM378,000, says Saifuddin
The Home Ministry seized 6,620 copies of the Quran and related materials worth RM378,171.92 under Ops Mulia between Jan 1 and March 31 this year.
Speaking after the Quran Purification Programme aboard the Maritime Ship (KM) Tun Fatimah on Friday (April 17), Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said enforcement action targeted copies containing errors or failing to meet standards set by religious authorities, adding that enforcement also covers digital and audio versions, including those sold on e-commerce platforms.
Separately, 8,672 Quran copies and materials worth RM2.7mil were disposed of during a programme on Friday, with 1.5 tonnes of compressed materials released off Port Klang.
