Helen Haines’ second leg amputated after alleged attack, husband says
Independent MP Helen Haines has now had both legs amputated by doctors in the wake of Monday’s shocking alleged attack.
Haines has been in a critical condition in hospital with significant injuries after she was struck by a car outside her electorate office at Wangaratta in Victoria’s northeast.
“As a result of that, Helen’s left leg was amputated on Monday,” her husband Phil said on Wednesday afternoon.
