Govt halfway to savings target through spending cuts

The government’s operating expenditure rationalisation exercise across ministries has achieved nearly 50% of its savings target, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said on Wednesday (May 20).

Fahmi said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had informed the Cabinet that the exercise had begun yielding positive results, with no disruption to service delivery or ministry programmes.
