Fresh US-Hamas deal faces doubts over disarmament pledge

Former US Marine and Republican commentator John Deaton questions the stability of the new US-Hamas deal aimed at disarming the group and rebuilding Gaza.

“Certainly there has been an agreement, although Israel hasn’t officially signed off on it because they’ve come out and said that they do not believe Hamas will fully disarm,” Mr Deaton told News24.

“A lot of promises are being made; the question is, is it going to happen?”
