Fresh #snow blankets #Poland’s #Tatra #mountains
Winter has made an early appearance in Poland’s Tatra Mountains, covering the peaks in a fresh blanket of snow and offering spectacular views from Zakopane.
On Tuesday morning, snow cover on Kasprowy Wierch reached 24 centimeters, with temperatures falling to –4°C. A low-level avalanche warning is now in place above 1,800 meters.
The Tatra National Park is urging hikers to take extra care, warning that fresh snow and icy patches have made trails at higher elevations slippery and difficult to navigate.
