Four arrests, multiple cases, R85,000 already paid in bail
Julius Mkhwanazi’s legal troubles continue to mount. The suspended EMPD deputy chief was arrested again on 5 August, this time for his involvement in the murder of Emmanuel Mbense, who was killed at his Brakpan home in April 2022. Mkhwanazi is also facing three other active cases, including identity fraud, alleged fleet fraud involving Cat VIP Protection and the precious stones heist. He maintains his innocence and is due back in court on 13 August for a formal bail application. #eNCA
