Former Cuban president Raúl Castro indicted in US | BBC News
The US government has indicted former Cuban president Raúl Castro on charges of conspiracy to kill US nationals over a fatal attack on two planes in 1996.
Castro, who was armed forces minister at the time, is also charged with destruction of aircraft and four counts of murder – if found guilty, he could face life in prison.
Current President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel claimed the charges are a “political” manoeuvre and says they are “devoid of any legal foundation”.
