Former attorney-general details antisemitic abuse at royal commission

Former attorney-general Mark Dreyfus has detailed his experiences of antisemitic abuse while giving testimony at the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion.

Dreyfus, a descendant of Holocaust survivors, said he was abused by a man on a street after he greeted him at a domestic violence rally in Melbourne.

The former attorney-general urged the royal commission to recommend strengthening hate speech laws, imposing a national gun registry, tightening social media restrictions and taking similar measures to those against protests outside abortion clinics.
