A collaborative effort across multiple agencies with a shared mission and purpose, that’s how the head of the New Jersey State Police described efforts to secure the region that will host 8 FIFA World Cup games, including the final on the 19th of July 2026.

The 82-thousand seater Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey, about 20 minutes from Manhattan New York, is the key focal point for the region.

The New Jersey State Police is the lead agency on public safety, working closely with the New York Police Department, and other local and federal law enforcement.

About 1.2 million visitors are expected to travel to the area for the World Cup.
