Fears refinery fire could strain fuel supply
A major fire has broken out at one of Australia’s two remaining oil refineries, adding further pressure to the country’s fuel stocks.
The Geelong oil refinery, operated by Viva Energy, supplies half of Victoria’s fuel — and ten per cent of the nation’s total demand.
Energy Minister Chris Bowen has confirmed the damage from the fire will impact production.
