Farage drops border bombshell with Australian-style turnback plan

Former prime minister Tony Abbott reacts to UK Reform Party leader Nigel Farage, who vowed to embrace an Australian-style border policy to stop the boats.

“It’s a carbon copy of Operation Sovereign Borders,” Mr Abbott told News24 host Peta Credlin.

“There are two elements that are absolutely essential. The first is being prepared to send boats back if needs be, send people back in unsinkable life rafts. The second is disrupting these people gangs on land.”
