Eskom threatens to cut Joburg’s power

Johannesburg Mayor, Dada Morero, has emphasised the city’s commitment to stabilising its finances. In his recent State of the City Address, Morero outlined several initiatives aimed at strengthening the city’s financial position, including a fully funded budget, debt relief strategies, revenue growth, and plans to divest from non-strategic assets.
He addressed the ongoing dispute with Eskom, assuring residents that Johannesburg is actively collaborating with the national government and various stakeholders to find a resolution.
