Eat bamboo, nap, repeat: Vienna’s pandas get a seasonal surprise
Eat bamboo. Sleep. Repeat. Vienna Zoo’s pandas have a pretty fixed daily schedule. So keepers decided to mix things up with a pile of autumn leaves.
“A little something in between is often quite nice, just to keep their minds from getting too rusty,” says zookeeper Renate Haider. The pandas can choose to roll in the leaves, ignore them entirely, or anything in between. One of them appears to have made a very enthusiastic choice.
