Drones crash in Latvia, defense minister: likely Ukrainian UAVs gone off course | Morning Report

DRONES CRASH IN LATVIA
Two foreign drones entered Latvian airspace from Russia and crashed, the Latvian army reported Thursday morning. Following the incident, Latvia’s Minister of Defense Andris Sprūds stated that the UAVs were “probably” Ukrainian drones launched against targets in Russia that veered off their intended path.

ZELENSKYY: RUSSIA CONTINUES ATTACKS DESPITE CEASEFIRE PROPOSAL
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his nightly address that “Russia has not ceased any of its military activities,” adding that there have been continuous reports of new strikes across the country. Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine has submitted a proposal for a complete ceasefire but is still willing to respond to Russia “in kind” based on how the next day plays out.

RUSSIA WARNS DIPLOMATS TO LEAVE KYIV OVER POTENTIAL RETALIATORY STRIKE
Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday that it warned foreign diplomatic missions to evacuate staff from Kyiv in the event of a mass strike by Moscow in response to any attempt by Ukraine to disrupt Russia’s Victory Day commemorations on May 9.
