Drone strikes trigger fuel shortages in occupied Crimea | Ukraine Brief

Russian strikes against Ukraine since Sunday have claimed the lives of three people and wounded nearly 80 more. This comes after Ukraine launched a series of drone strikes against Russian oil infrastructure over the weekend, striking a refinery in Russia’s Saratov region and a pumping station in the Kirov region.

Ukrainian mid-range strikes continue to disrupt logistics routes to occupied Crimea, causing a fuel shortage on the peninsula. Russian-installed authorities in Crimea have now announced fuel rationing and coupon-based purchases for motorists.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday that France seized a Russian-linked tanker in the Atlantic on Sunday morning.

To discuss Ukraine’s drone attacks on Russian military and energy infrastructure, Ukraine Brief host Ashim Kumar speaks with Mariiya Zolkina, Research Fellow at the London School of Economics IDEAS.
