A fast-acting New York City police officer saved a young boy from choking after being flagged down in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon, September 26.
Body-worn camera footage posted by the NYPD shows officers rushing to help a woman holding an unresponsive infant and pleading for help. One of the police officers takes the young boy and starts patting him firmly on the back, which clears the child’s airway.
“Within seconds, the child was breathing again and safely brought to a hospital for evaluation,” the NYPD said.
Further footage shows the officer comforting the distressed boy and medics on the scene.
